HUGE: CONFEDERATE FLAG HAS NO PLACE IN SPORTS OR AMERICA

As social unrest continues in America as a big part of any current conversation, I think it’s time we all turn our attention to the real flag of racism that still flies in America.

I know how we all can unite in a fight against a flag that truly stands for racism and oppression.

Let’s stand together to have the Confederate Flag banned and removed from any sporting event and public place in America.

How and why the Confederate Flag flies anywhere in this country defines how racism is alive and well where we live. That flag is a waving reminder that some people still believe skin color determines your value to society.

It’s 2020 people. The 155 years of states, cities, people, sports and teams in our country celebrating or even allowing the presence of this flag needs to end now.

READ THE WORDS OF THE DESIGNER

All you need to do is read the 1860’s meaning of the confederate flag from its designer William Tappan Thompson: “As a people, we are fighting to maintain the heaven ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race: a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause.”

And there still is a debate about this flag?

Those  words define racism people. How did it take NASCAR this long to ban the flag from their races and events? Their decision is less than three days old as I write this.

Outside of the Nazi Flag the Confederate Flag is the most racist flag in the history of mankind.

For any sports fan to celebrate a race, game, or big day by flying this flag is a large part of the division of America. That flag is about superior symbolism and an underlying part of why we have this tension in our country today.

I get the first amendment. I understand the right to protest and fly the flag of your choice. Please just tell me how any man or woman in 2020 America holds on to the history of a racist confederacy that lost a civil war on our nation’s soil?

Read those words of William Tappan Thompson that explain the meaning of that flag again. We have to be better than this – it’s 2020.

HOW DID IT TAKE NASCAR THIS LONG?

Shame on NASCAR that it took them this long to finally ban the flag. Shame on any state or community that still flies any version of that flag. Shame on any politician or community leader that still thinks the confederate monuments and statues have a place in 2020 America.

If you support still flying the confederate flag you will never understand where I’m coming from. Chances are that if you feel offended that you can’t bring a confederate flag to the race track, then you don’t see all Americans as your equal.

I salute NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace for having the courage to stand up to racism at any track in America.

Let’s all respect the American Flag, stand together, and make sure the Confederate Flag doesn’t fly ever again at any sporting event in our country.
