In our first and our final hour we were joined by the Executive Director of the Michigan High School Athletic Association, Mark Uyl. Mark joined us to discuss the news from the MHSAA last Friday regarding the cancellation of high school football for the fall season. He also gave insight into how he and his team came to this conclusion, and how they plan to salvage football and some of the other fall sports by moving them to the spring of 2021. Mark and Huge talked about how the lower contact sports are being affected and how they plan to handle the higher contact sports come next spring. We were joined by Evan Woodbery at the end of the show to discuss the recent moves made by our Detroit Tigers.
In our second hour we wanted to take a look at what the Big Ten did last week canceling fall football and how we think it was way too soon for them to make that decision. First we were joined by Chris Balas to take a look at this from a Wolverine perspective as it pertains to getting athletes on the field, the new spit swab tests, and how he doesn’t believe there will be any back tracking. Throughout the hour, Huge talked about the medical data and how he believes the sports directors really need to be paying attention to all of the data. In our final hour we were joined by Evan Woodbery at the end of the show to discuss the recent moves made by our Detroit Tigers.
