In our first hour Dr. K from Metro Health joined us today to discuss the relationship between Covid-19 and sports. With more information coming out regarding the effects of Covid-19 on the heart, we wanted to get an update from Dr. K on how things could play out for the Big 10 and other sports across the board. Given the rise in cases and hospitalizations, Dr. K also informed us of how the flu could be playing a part in the rise of numbers, and how we can work at slowing down those numbers. Huge and Dr. K also discussed whether all of this new information still makes it safe for sports to be played or not. We were also joined by Jason Strayhorn to get his thoughts on last weekend’s Spartan loss to Rutgers. Jason and Huge also looked ahead to Saturday’s game against the Wolverines.
In our second hour we were joined by Chris Balas to look further into this weekend’s big game between the Wolverines and the Spartans. Huge and Chris gave their thoughts on how that game should look, and the common theme is that it will be a blow out. We then moved on to talk about that Griffen deal that the Lions pulled off yesterday. We were joined by Logan Lamorandier to get his thoughts on the deal and to talk about how Griffen will ultimately help the Lions.
In our final hour we got some more MSU perspective on the game this weekend. We were joined by Graham Couch to get his thoughts on how the Spartans will fare. He and Huge discussed what MSU would really need to do to win this game. Graham and Huge also touched on some new guidance that the State of Michigan has put out. We then got some more Wolverine perspective from our friend Jim Brandstatter. Huge and Jim looked ahead to Saturday’s game and also discussed last weekend’s win over the Golden Gophers. We wrapped up the show with Tom Rosenbach from BeeneGarter so he could attempt take Huge’s Pro and College picks for the Beat Huge Contest.
