The AP? No, The AB Top 25 – Week 3

Week 3 of the college football season is in the books, and the new AB Top 25 poll is right here!  Heads up…Michigan slides a little, and there’s trouble in Tuscaloosa. Here is the “real” Top-25 in College Football.

  1. GEORGIA (3-0) W 24-14 vs. SOUTH CAROLINA

Georgia wins at home but not without some questions. Down 14-3 at home at the half raises some eyebrows. The DAWGS responded in the 2nd half with 21 unanswered.  The defending champs remain #1.

  1. USC (3-0) BYE WEEK

USC moves up to #2, because week 3 was brutal for many programs.

  1. OHIO STATE (3-0) W 63-10 vs WKU

Now that’s how you handle an inferior opponent. 63 points have the Buckeyes’ offense feeling good.

  1. TEXAS (3-0) W 31-10 vs WYOMING

They still have their win against Alabama, but Wyoming shouldn’t have been a test at all. It took 21 unanswered in the 4th to win this game for the Longhorns.  Poor performance.

  1. NOTRE DAME (4-0) W 41-17 vs CENTRAL MICHIGAN

The Fighting Irish offense continues to roll. This week is THE test for ND.  They’ll host the Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday Night at 7:30.

  1. WASHINGTON (3-0) W vs. MICHIGAN STATE

Michael Penix Jr. and company traveled across the country and smacked the $%&# out of Michigan State, embarrassing Sparty on their own turf.  WOW, what a performance.

  1. FLORIDA STATE (3-0) W vs. BOSTON COLLEGE

Shockingly poor performance by the Noles had FSU on the ropes in the 4th…and BC of all teams. Come on now.

  1. MICHIGAN (3-0) W 31-6 vs. BGSU

Michigan slides again due to a pretty “blah” night under the lights vs. Bowling Green. JJ McCarthy threw three..yep THREE interceptions?!  I think he rebounds vs. Rutgers this week, but against far less superior competition, the Maize n Blue have yet to put together that WOW performance.

  1. PENN STATE (3-0) W vs. ILLINOIS

Penn State remains at #9, I just don’t trust this team. I don’t think they’ve looked as good as their scores may indicate.  James Franklin, all eyes are on you pal.

  1. OREGON (3-0) W 55-10 vs HAWAII

Bo Nix has put together another stellar outing and the Ducks roll the rainbows.

  1. UTAH (3-0) W 31-7 vs WEBER STATE

Utes got a gimme here, nothing too special to write about them this week.

  1. ALABAMA (2-1) W 17-3 vs SOUTH FLORIDA

Milroe lost his starting spot to ND transfer Tyler Buchner, that wasn’t anything to write home about. Lightening delayed the game 55 minutes.  Saban’s squad might have some problems.

  1. LSU (2-1) W vs Mississippi State

LSU has re-entered the chat. Told you they’d do this. An absolute shellacking of a conference opponent.

  1. MIAMI (3-0) W 48-7 vs BETHUNE-COOKMAN

This was over after the 1st quarter. Miami steamrolls a lesser opponent the way you’re supposed to.

  1. DUKE (3-0) W 38-14 vs NORTHWESTERN

The “Brainiac Bowl” goes to the Dukies because, well, Northwestern is terrible.

  1. COLORADO (3-0)
  2. OLE MISS (3-0)
  3. OKLAHOMA (3-0)
  4. UNC (3–0)
  5. UCLA (3-0)
  6. WASHINGTON ST (2-0)
  7. OREGON STATE (2-0)
  8. TENNESSEE (2-1)
  9. IOWA (3-0)
  10. FLORIDA (2-1)
