The AP? No, The AB Top 25 – Week 2

Two weeks into the season, here’s a look at where we stand with the actual AB (Anthony Bellino) Top-25 in College Football:

  1. GEORGIA (2-0) W 45-3 vs BALL STATE

Get some MACtion! Ball State had a tie game after 1 quarter… only to surrender 31 & 14 in the next 2. HOWEVER, UGA is only #1 because they hold the title as defending champs, because it looks like they may need some help on the offensive side of the ball

  1. TEXAS (2-0) W 34-24 vs #3 ALABAMA

We have a new leader in the clubhouse for the best win of the season. TEXAS IS BACK!!! 21 points in the 4th quarter?! Against Alabama?! Let’s hope for the sake of college football the Longhorns don’t botch this.

  1. FLORIDA STATE (2-0) W 66-13 vs. SOUTHERN MISS

Seminoles drop a spot because they no longer have the claim for best win of the season. Former Spartan Keon Coleman scores his 4th TD of the season.

  1. USC (3-0) W 56-10 vs STANFORD

USC continues their offensive onslaught, this time a conference opponent who looked like a high school team. Caleb Williams has a 12:0 TD:INT ratio to start the season.

  1. MICHIGAN (2-0) W 35-7 vs UNLV

The Wolverines passing attack is looking better and better each week with JJ McCarthy. Run game is still a little sluggish (paging Donovan Edwards?). The defense capitalized on their pressures with 5 sacks & 10 TFLs.

  1. OHIO STATE (2-0) W 35-7 vs YOUNGSTOWN STATE

A gimme for the Buckeye. Kyle McCord locked in & finally found Marvin Harrison Jr on his team. 7 catches, 160 yards & 2 Tds later. Plus, his teammate Emeka Egbuka is pretty good too. Hey Kyle, just throw the ball at them.

  1. WASHINGTON (2-0) W 43-10 vs TULSA

Michael Penix Jr. is at it again this week, 409 yards, 3TDs, BUT he did have a pick to his name. Washington’s offense is too good right now and we’ll see it on full display this week vs. Michigan State.

  1. NOTRE DAME (3-0) W 45-24 vs NC STATE

The Fighting Irish looked GOOD, especially in the second half. Lets see if they can keep this up.

  1. PENN STATE (2-0) W 63-7 vs DELAWARE

We learned absolutely nothing about Penn State this week. They get Illinois next.

  1. TENNESSEE (2-0) W 30-13 vs AUSTIN PEAY

It’s Austin Peay for God’s sake. Nothing to see here. Volunteer defense should’ve pitched a shutout.

  1. ALABAMA (1-1) L 34-24 vs TEXAS

WOW. HOLY MACKEREL. Alabama has lost in week 2! But as I said, Texas is BACK! Jalen Milroe with a very poor performance. You just can’t turn the football over in games like that.

  1. OREGON (2-0) W 38-30 vs TEXAS TECH

Nice P5 win for the Ducks, at least we can say that. Bo Nix continues to play elite football, along with a lot of other QBs in the college game right now. Job well done, but not enough for any movement.

  1. UTAH (2-0) W 20-13 vs BAYLOR

The Utes were down 10-3 at the half but came alive in the 4th. Don’t think they have enough offense for a sustained run though.

  1. MIAMI (2-0) W 48-33 vs #23 TEXAS A&M

It’s all about “The U!”  MIAMI IS BACK BABY!! This is so, so, so good for college football.

  1. DUKE (2-0) W 42-7 vs LAFAYETTE

No hangover for the Dukies, they blow by Lafayette after that massive week 1 win vs. #5 Clemson. I should probably have them higher, but I still don’t know yet.

  1. COLORADO (2-0)
  2. KANSAS STATE (2-0)
  3. OLE MISS (2-0)
  4. OKLAHOMA (2-0)
  5. UNC (2-0)
  6. LSU (1-1)
  7. WASHINGTON ST (2-0)
  8. OREGON STATE (2-0)
  9. IOWA (1-0)
  10. MICHIGAN STATE (2-0)
